Ottfried Fischer: That was the wedding with his Simone in the time of Corona

Ottfried Fischer and Simone Brandlmeier said yes last Friday. This was the wedding in Corona times.

Last Friday (June 19), Ottfried Fischer (66) and his partner Simone Brandlmeier said yes after 13 years of relationship in Passau, Bavaria. The TV legend spoke to the "Bild" newspaper about the wedding ceremony, which turned out somewhat differently than planned due to the corona pandemic.

Instead of the planned 100 guests, only 15 family members and closest friends should have been there. The wedding ceremony should also not have taken place in Fischer's adopted home of Passau, but in Regensburg. Nevertheless, this "sign of solidarity" had become particularly important to them due to the Corona crisis: "We decided at the beginning of the Corona period to marry. I always knew that I wanted to marry Simone," said Fischer about "Bild".

And even if everything was not as it was when the couple wanted it, the 66-year-old was excited before the wedding: "Of course! We have been the perfect team for 13 years," enthuses Fischer from his Simone.

Meticulous attention to corona protection

In order to protect the invited guests, attention was paid to corona protective measures throughout the day – even at the private party. "To avoid misunderstandings, however, we removed the mouthguard when I said yes," jokes Fischer. After the civil wedding there will also be an ecclesiastical one. But before that, the newlywed couple first go on their honeymoon: "We'll be going to the mountains shortly."
