The recipe for the super soft Nutella® roll

  • 4 eggs
  • 100 g of wheat flour (or cornflour for a gluten-free version)
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 110 g of Nutella®
  • 1 pinch of salt

Preheat your oven to 180 ° C. Separate the whites from the yolks and beat the whites until stiff, incorporating a pinch of salt. In a salad bowl, blanch the egg yolks with the powdered sugar. Add the flour and mix vigorously. Fold in the snowy egg whites with a spatula, taking care not to break them. Spread the dough on a baking sheet lined with a sheet of parchment paper. Bake the sponge cake for 10 minutes. Once cooked, place the sponge cake – paper side down – on a damp cloth to roll it up more easily. Set aside a few minutes for her to take shape. Unroll it to remove the paper and spread it with Nutella®. Roll up and set aside some time in the refrigerator before serving.

Are the kids coming home from school in a few tens of minutes? If you don't have the time to prepare a soft sponge cake for them, you can still try this super-quick sandwich bread recipe. To save even more time, you can easily make part of your wrap using your multicooker. For the following two recipes, we start with the same amounts of ingredients as the "classic" recipe mentioned at the beginning of the article.

The Nutella® roll at the Companion

Separate whites from yellows. In the bowl fitted with the mixer, place the egg whites and beat them for 4 minutes at speed 7. Set them aside. In the cleaned bowl with the kneading / crushing knife added, add the yolks, flour and sugar and activate the dough program P3. Gently incorporate the egg whites then bake your sponge cake in the oven for 10 minutes at 180 ° C.

The Nutella® roll at the Thermomix

Put the eggs and powdered sugar in the Thermomix. Mix 30 sec / speed 3. Stir in flour. Mix 25 sec / speed 4. Transfer the sponge cake to a baking sheet fitted with baking paper and bake for 10 min at 180 ° C.
