It’s teeming with exciting new products out there. But for which ones is it really worth knocking coal on the head? Every month, our editorial team puts five products through their paces and checks them for fun. In June, a high table attachment for the home office, period underwear, vegan schnitzel, ankle weights and sustainable kitchen towels land on our test table.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Product: Harmoni® high table

Price: approx. 200 euros

Application: The Harmoni® transforms any table into a high table. The sturdy boards made of birch wood can be simply plugged into each other and placed on the table. The different holes allow the board for the laptop and the board for the keyboard to be placed at the perfect height.

Result: To be honest, I never had the feeling that a high table would revolutionize my work. Since I got this essay from Harmoni®, I see it completely differently. Especially in the home office, the high table is simply life-changing. I always set up the table in different places in my apartment – either on the dining table or on the kitchen shelf (with a window view). Working while standing is sometimes just super comfortable and really relaxing for your back. In addition, the table can also be dismantled in a few simple steps so that it does not take up any space after work. Just great!

Not without my Skenty

Skenty

Editor Mareike tested Skenty’s period underwear on a trip to the sea.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Product: Period briefs by Skenty

Price: 29 euros

Application: Skenty makes period and bladder weakness briefs. The briefs can replace other hygiene products in the event of slight bleeding – because they have a leakage protection sewn in. It should absorb the liquid from up to four tampons. It is very easy to use: put on, forget your period, done. On days with heavier bleeding, a bandage or a men’s cup is also recommended. The slip can easily be machine washed at 40 degrees and is therefore reusable.

Result: I tried the panties on an easy day of my period, but then immediately put them to the acid test: They should get me safely through a trip to the sea. Because honestly, on a long drive, on the beach and then even in the heat, all hygiene products and changing them are rather annoying. That is exactly why I really took Skenty to my heart that day: I could simply forget that I actually had my period. The suction core is absolutely not noticeable. Plus: The material is bacteria-inhibiting and breathable, which is particularly important when it is warm. I can really recommend the slip and am thinking of getting even more – after all, it is also much more sustainable than sanitary towels and tampons.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5)

Product: “Like Schnitzel” from Like Meat

Price: approx. 3.50 euros (180 grams)

Application: Like the animal version, the schnitzel is fried with a little fat in the pan. The consistency is confusingly similar to that of a “real” schnitzel, the breading is crispy.

Result: The vegan and gluten-free soy schnitzel from Like Meat not only looks deceptively real, it also tastes great. Spicy, tender, with a breading that doesn’t cover everything. At home, the meat substitute can convince mother and son alike – and that means something!

Wipe. Path. Washing machine. Repeat.

Julia KMK sponge cloths

Editor Julia put Kiss My Kitchen’s sponge cloths to the acid test.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Product: Kiss My Kitchen sponge cloth roll

Price: 12 sheets for 15 €.

Application: Make dirt, tear off the cloth, wipe up, throw in the washing machine and recycle.

Result: Sustainability is important to me. Wherever I can live it in an uncomplicated way in everyday life, I try as best I can to avoid anything that causes additional waste or pollutes the environment. That’s how I came across the reusable kitchen roll from KMK and I was totally thrilled. The individual sponge cloths can be easily torn off the roll, are thinner than conventional sponge cloths for rinsing, but still very absorbent. Depending on which mess you want to get rid of, you can either moisten it or use it dry. After use, simply put it in the washing machine and wash at a maximum of 60 degrees. After that, they can simply be reused. The only drawback: the loose sheets of paper warp in the machine and are of course no longer neatly rolled up for second use. But I can live with that very well, after all they are really stylish compared to many creepy paper designs of the disposable version.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5)

Product: Wrist and ankle weights from Bala

Price: approx. 45 euros, as a Pride edition approx. 50 euros

Application: The weights can easily be attached to the wrist or ankle. Thanks to the Velcro fastener, they are individually adaptable and suitable for everyone.

Result: The hyped weights don’t disappoint! The ease of use and the stylish appearance motivate you to do sports for a few minutes longer. They hold up well, do not interfere and produce results despite the light weight of only one pound.
