Feta is a soft, fresh cheese originally from Greece. Made from pasteurized sheep’s or goat’s milk, it is ideally consumed between January and May. Usually sold in brine, feta goes perfectly with salads, but also with preparations such as bricks, savory pies and other hot starters. The sweet and savory combination is also very delicious with this cheese!

Avocado and feta croque-monsieur recipe

Ingredients :

  • 8 slices of sandwich bread
  • 2 avocados
  • 4 tablespoons of cheese spread (plain or garlic and herbs)
  • feta cheese
  • lemon juice

The preparation steps:

Step 1 : preheat the oven to 210 ° C (thermostat 7).

2nd step : peel then cut the avocados into strips.

Step 3: spread each slice of sandwich bread with the cheese spread then add a few slices of avocado.

Step 4: add a drop of lemon juice and crumbled feta cheese.

Step 5: close each toast and place them in a sandwich or waffle maker to cook for 5 minutes.

The recipe for cod tacos with mango and feta

Ingredients :

  • 4 taco tortillas
  • 400g steamed boneless cod fillets
  • 2 mangoes
  • 2 small red onions
  • 120 g feta
  • some salad leaves
  • chopped parsley
  • salt pepper

The preparation steps:

Step 1 : clean and pat the salad leaves dry.

2nd step : remove the skin and the stones from the mangoes, then cut the flesh into small cubes.

Step 3: peel and chop the red onions.

Step 4: roughly cut the cooked cod into small pieces.

Step 5: crumble the feta.

Step 6: divide the salad leaves, the cod in pieces, the mango cubes, the onion pieces, the crumbled feta and the chopped parsley on the tortillas.

Step 7: salt and pepper then enjoy!

The recipe for ham and feta muffins

Ingredients :

  • 180 g flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 g white ham
  • 60 g feta
  • 10 cl of milk
  • 5 cl of olive oil
  • 1 sachet of baking powder
  • 1 onion
  • thyme leaves
  • Butter
  • salt pepper

The preparation steps:

Step 1 : preheat the oven to 180 ° C (thermostat 6).

2nd step : finely cut the ham into slices.

Step 3: in a bowl, mix the flour with the yeast. Dig a well in the center, then break the eggs there.

Step 4: stir everything, and gradually mix with the milk and olive oil until the dough is smooth.

Step 5: season with salt and pepper, then stir in the feta, ham and thyme. Mix then set aside.

Step 6: Peel and chop the onion. Brown it in a pan with a dash of olive oil.

Step 7: once well returned, join it to the dough, and mix one last time.

Step 8: Coat the muffin cups with butter and a little flour.

Step 9: pour in the dough, then bake for 20 minutes.

Step 10: let it cool down before unmolding. Enjoy!

The Greek Feta Hot Dog Recipe

Ingredients :

  • 1 baguette
  • 2 sausages
  • 4 salad leaves
  • 1 carrot
  • 1 red onion
  • 1/2 cucumber
  • ketchup

The preparation steps:

Step 1 : grill the sausages for 10 minutes in the pan

2nd step : wash and peel the cucumber and carrot, then dice them.

Step 3: Wash and wring out the salad.

Step 4: cut the baguette in half, then cut it open lengthwise. Drizzle the inside with the ketchup, then the salad.

Step 5: garnish the baguettes with diced raw vegetables, place the sausages on them, then crumble the feta on top. Enjoy!

The recipe for tomato and strawberry salad with feta

Ingredients :

  • 6 tomatoes
  • 250 g small strawberries
  • 200 g of feta
  • 4 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar
  • salt pepper

The preparation steps:

Step 1 : wash the tomatoes and cut them into quarters.

2nd step : wash the strawberries, hull them and cut them in half.

Step 3: cut the feta into cubes, then add it to the tomatoes and strawberries.

Step 4: mix olive oil and vinegar. Water the fruit. Add salt and pepper.

Step 5: serve chilled!
