our opinion on this wireless gaming mouse

In parallel with the launch of the G502 X, Logitech G has also lifted the veil on the Plus version, which brings wireless connectivity and RGB lighting, so dear to gamers.

The mouse gamer Logitech G502 X Plus is simply a clone of the classic G502 X that we have already tested. This more upscale model is equipped with a wireless link, compatibility with the brand’s wireless charging mats and RGB lighting.

The weight is logically affected since this model freed from the wire exceeds 106 g, which makes it a model still quite heavy compared to the current trend. Apart from the weight, it is also the price that takes a hit, because Logitech is asking no less than 170 euros to afford this G502 X Plus.

Heavier, less toy

Surprisingly, the in-hand feel of the G502 X Plus differs a bit from its wired version. Indeed, by its weight, the wireless model gives less of this feeling of a toy that was found on the wired version. However, the general ergonomics remain identical between the two models and we therefore invite you to consult our test of the G502 X.

The only notable difference is therefore its weight which here reaches 106 grams, where the wired model did not exceed 90 grams. This difference is really felt in use and it is a point that should not be overlooked before the purchase. At least it has the merit of remaining lighter than its main competitor, the Basilisk V3 from Razer.

Under the mouse, there is logically a switch as well as a location to house the dongle during transportation. This hatch can also accommodate the wireless charging roller, to make the mouse compatible with the brand’s carpets. The G502 X Plus is also accompanied by a non-braided USB cable and an adapter to bring the dongle of the mouse which is charged in USB C.

Finally, the X Plus version also has very nicely integrated RGB lighting. The proposed effects are visually very successful, while being relatively discreet. We also almost regret that the wired G502 X does not have it.

Features

The features unlocked by the Logitech G Hub driver are similar to what is found on the wired version. Here we take advantage of an additional page to customize the RGB lighting zone that equips the mouse. Different settings are available, although the default setting is the most convincing in our opinion.

The G502 X Plus also has an interface dedicated to its energy saving settings. It is possible to customize the standby time as well as the associated RGB lighting. G Hub also gives us an estimate of the consumption of the mouse and by extension of the remaining autonomy.

Autonomy and connectivity

The wireless connection did not suffer, as often, from any notable problem. The difference with a wired connection is imperceptible and the G502 X Plus allows you to enjoy an excellent user experience on this point. We nevertheless regret the absence of Bluetooth compatibility, which is found in the competition.

The autonomy of the mouse is very correct since Logitech announces a little less than 40 hours, lighting activated, and up to 130 hours without lighting. On our side, the mouse was used 3 to 4 hours daily (RGB lighting activated) for a week before reaching 20% of the remaining battery.

Great performance, wirelessly

We saw just above that the wireless link does not affect the performance of the mouse in any way. In fact, and as it uses the same sensor as its wired version, this G502 X Plus offers excellent performance at all levels. Once again, we invite you to consult our test of the G502 X to know everything about it.

Apart from the wireless link, the somewhat substantial weight of the Plus version may modify the experience somewhat. As always, it will be up to individual preference, but those extra few grams might provide the hint of control that some lack.

Logitech G502 X Plus Mouse Price and Availability

The Logitech G502 X Plus mouse is available at the recommended price of 170 euros.
