Methodology

Votes and party affiliations were collected on the European Parliament website. To provide greater clarity, the vote regarding the inclusion of nuclear and fossil gas in “green technologies” was reversed. The original vote asked MPs to vote for or against rejecting the inclusion of technologies.

Your affinity score with an MP is calculated, by summing as follows:

  • +1 for each identical vote;
  • -1 if you decided the opposite of the MP;
  • 0 if you or the MP did not comment on the question or abstained.

The score thus obtained is normalized by the number of votes in which you and the MP took part (including abstention) to which we add 0.1 times the number of votes in which one or the other did not speak. This last addition makes it possible to disadvantage MPs who are regularly absent.

The score is finally reduced to between 0 and 100%.
