our recipes for a makeover

Nothing like a peel to regain glowing skin. Discover the advice of Aurélyne Natali, beautician, to make your peel at home and get a new look!

Peeling is a chemical process which, thanks to its formulation rich in acids, will help to remove small imperfections, such as pimples, by stimulating cell regeneration.Explains the professional. There are different types of peels. The gentle peel that can be done at home or in the institute, and the medium or deep peels that are performed only by a dermatologist or an aesthetic doctor in the office with much stronger products. The peel causes the skin to renew itself by peeling off the dead cells. Perfect for saying goodbye to the small imperfections that poison our lives and restore radiance. Be careful however, the peel is quite aggressive for the skin and must be done as a cure. “I recommend peeling once every six months for maximum application per week for two to four weeks”Advises Aurélyne Natali.

Peeling or scrub, is it the same?

This is certainly the most common confusion! In common parlance, the words peeling and exfoliation are often used interchangeably to denote the same treatment. In reality, these are two very different methods. “The exfoliation is carried out with an exfoliating product and acts through a mechanical action. In the case of more aggressive peels, it is the product itself that will actSays the beautician. The exfoliation encourages cell regeneration and activates microcirculation, where the peel will affect the appearance of the skin, spots, wrinkles and redness, giving a "new skin" effect.

Peeling, a treatment for all skin types?

There is no contraindication to peeling. Beware, however, of sensitive skin, black or mat because there is a risk of depigmentation of areas where the skin is irregular.”, Warns Aurélyne Natali. The peel, on the other hand, is very suitable for oily skin or with acne thanks to its mode of action. Unlike the scrub which will activate the production of sebum because it is necessary to rub.

Homemade peel recipes for each skin type

The peel is a treatment rich in fruit acid which can be carried out in an institute by an esthetician with already prepared products which have the appearance of a cream. But it is also quite possible to compose your own formula at home, while respecting break times and hygienic precautions! Here are the formulas proposed by our expert according to your skin type. To avoid any allergic reaction, it is recommended to carry out a test on the forearm before application to the face.

  • Lemon, only lemon for normal skin

The magic ingredient of the peel is lemon, which thanks to its acidic side will tighten pores and remove impurities. It is rich in vitamin C and flavonoids which are antioxidantsSays the beautician.
The simplest homemade peeling recipe is therefore simply to apply the juice of a lemon (preferably organic!) Directly to the skin. This natural treatment is applied to damp skin and left on for one to five minutes. Then rinse thoroughly with warm water when it starts to bite and apply a moisturizer or vegetable oil.
To make all these peel recipes, you won't need much. A small, clean and disinfected cup, a teaspoon, a tablespoon, and the ingredients recommended by the beautician. The ideal being to choose them organic.

  • For sensitive and combination skin, the sweetness of honey!

For sensitive skin or combination skin, the formula will be slightly different and it is best to avoid applying pure lemon. We are therefore going to opt for a lemon juice, 2 tablespoons of honey and 2 teaspoons of cinnamon formula, known for its cleaning and disinfecting properties. Apply the mixture to the wet face for fifteen minutes then rinse with cool water without rubbing. We obviously end with a good moisturizer or sweet almond oil. A real express beauty!

  • Oatmeal to help oily skin

For oily skin, the miracle ingredient is going to be oats, especially bran or oatmeal. They have softening and mineralizing properties. It is then necessary to mix the juice of a lemon, and 3 tablespoons of bran or oatmeal. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse with hot water to loosen the mixture, before finishing with cold water. A 100% natural treatment that works wonders.

  • The cucumber formula to plump the skin

Another possibility is to carry out a peel based on cucumber pulp. An ingredient that has astringent and hydrating properties and is suitable for all skin types. The recipe is very simple. After fully peeling half a cucumber and removing the grains, it is mixed with an egg white and lemon juice. Leave on and rinse first with warm water and then with cold water. A real boosting beauty treatment for the epidermis, which is then supplemented with the application of a moisturizer.
