Would you prefer a monster hunt instead of a treasure hunt? ‘Outer Banks’ star Chase Stokes grabbed the big stars of ‘Stranger Things’ and screwed it up. Lucky in misfortune brought him to the Pogues.
- “Outer Banks” almost had to do without Chase Stokes’ John B.
- Actually, the actor wanted to start his career as an actor with the role of Steve Harrington from “Stranger Things”.
- But Stokes blew the audition – what started out as a tragedy turned out to be a stroke of luck.
Since February 23, 2023, the Pogues have been experiencing tons of adventures in the third season of “Outer Banks” in search of the big pot of gold. But the troops as we know them today almost never existed. Because John B actor Chase Stokes wanted to fight Vecna instead of the Kooks.
In an interview with Access Hollywood, the actor revealed that he auditioned for the role of Steve Harrington in Stranger Things earlier in his career. But his eight-hour drive from Orlando to Atlanta didn’t pay off back then.
I auditioned for Steve Harrington and forgot all the lines. I totally screwed up the audition.
Luckily, Stokes joined Netflix. Although Steve’s role went to Joe Keery and not Chase Stockes, the young actor managed to land a small part on Stranger Things. Because the Duffer brothers remembered him despite his botched casting.
That got him the attention he needed on Netflix, and with it his starring role as John B in Outer Banks. And his role is no less significant than Steve in “Stranger Things”. But on the contrary. Because even before the start of the 3rd season, Netflix extended “Outer Banks” by a fourth.
