After the happy ending of season 3 of Outer Banks, fans of the Netflix series are wondering if a season 4 will see the light of day. Good news, we already have the answer!

After a season 2 full of twists and turns, Outer Banks has returned for a new burst of episodes on Netflix. In the third season of the teen series, the Pogues are in bad shape after a high-tension treasure hunt.
Lonely on a desert island, the Pogues will use all available resources to return to their loved ones and to take revenge on their enemies. The whole gang is back: Chase Stokes (John B), Madelyn Cline (Sarah), Madison Bailey (Kiara), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Jonathan Daviss (Pope), Austin North (Topper) and Drew Starkey (Rafe) but also Carlacia Grant (Cleo), who had joined the series in season 2.
Is a season 4 possible?
In season 3, the Pogues manage to return, not without difficulty, to the Outer Banks to continue their quest for El Dorado. They will be helped by Big John (Charles Halford), the father of John B, back from the dead. But they will also have to flee a new enemy Carlos Singh (Andy McQueen) and deal with Ward Cameron (Charles Esten), Sarah’s father.
At the end of the third season, Sarah and John B. discover the cave containing the treasure of El Dorado, but they have been followed by Carlos Singh and Ward Cameron. A violent conflict results in the deaths of Carlos Singh, Ward Cameron and Big John, but above all an explosion that will close the cave.

Except that surprise, Sarah and John B. managed to leave with enough gold to start a new life with their friends. The final moments of the final episode show us the Pogues being rewarded by the Outer Banks community for their find and research.
At the same time, they have all found their way: Kiara saves the turtles, Pope has gone back to school, JJ has bought a boat and Sarah and John B. own a surf shop. But the taste for adventure does not fade away so easily.
So when the Pogues are challenged by a mysterious man who asks for their help in deciphering a manuscript detailing the travels of the famous pirate Edward Teach, better known as Blackbeard. What open the door to a new adventure in a potential season 4?
Well, yeah ! Even before season 3 was released on Netflix, the cast announced that the series was renewed for a fourth season during Poguelandia, a festival held in Huntington Beach, California for fans.

The band will obviously be there for this fourth burst of episodes and it should be ready for as many adventures as possible, if we are to believe Chase Stokes. John B’s interpreter told the HollywoodReporter that he was up for extending Outer Banks as long as the story is worth it:
“As long as the writers and Netflix get it right, that’s my main concern. I want to make sure we end this series on a high note and tell the right story, and don’t drag it out too far. so that it becomes tasteless. I think you see that a lot on TV, so I want to tell the right story and end it on a high note.”
And that’s good since co-creator and showrunner Jonas Pate seems to be in tune with Chase Stokes’ opinion. Especially since he had announced from the launch of Outer Banks that he had a plan for 5 seasons. Will the Netflix series go that far?
