The 6th season of Outlander arrives tomorrow on Netflix and will pick up right after the traumatic events of the previous season’s end. What to expect from these new episodes? The interpreters of Claire and Jamie have already given some clues.
It will be long overdue but it’s finally here! The sixth season of Outlander will begin airing tonight on Starz, more than two years after the launch of the previous season. In France, it is on Netflix that you can discover new episodes every Monday.
Adapted from the sixth novel in Diana Gabaldon’s literary saga, titled A Breath of Snow and Ashes (La Neige et la Cendre in French), this new season will be shorter than the previous ones since it will only have 8 episodes. Do not panic however, a seventh season has already been ordered to continue to tell the adventures of Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan).
Claire’s pain
During a round table with several media, including Deadlineto promote the arrival of new episodes, Caitríona Balfe assured that the consequences of the rapes suffered by her character at the end of the previous season would obviously be at the heart of the story.
“When we first see Claire this season, she’s really trying, on the surface, to put on a very brave face. Obviously, the events at the end of last season were so horrific that no one gets over it.”, she indicated.
And to continue:But Claire has always been this kind of rock for others, someone who has a hard time asking for help. When we see her, she tries to tell everyone that she’s fine, but we see that’s not the case. She’s falling apart and she doesn’t really want to admit it.”
In addition to this plot, which promises to be heartbreaking, the new burst of episodes will also focus on the American War of Independence which is closer than ever to the heroes.

A damaged relationship
For Sam Heughan, his character, Jamie, “is pulled in all directions”. “I think he always tried to find the right line between what to do with history – we know they tried to change history in the past – and being part of it. good side”, he explained before talking about another aspect of this season:
“And while he’s dealing with that, he’s also trying to give Claire her space. He is aware of what she is going through and he knows she will talk to him.”
I think what really separates them in their relationship – while they normally talk about everything – is that for the first time, Claire doesn’t have the words and she doesn’t consult Jamie. I think that’s where they kinda lose each other.
The introduction of the Christie family

Set aside in the fifth season, when it appeared in Gabaldon’s fifth novel, the Christie family will appear in the episode aired tonight. What sow a little more trouble in the lives of Claire and Jamie, as those who have read the books already know.
