Outlander on Netflix: while waiting for season 8, the stars of the series share their memories

“Outlander” season 8 is coming soon. As production prepares to begin, Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan take you behind the scenes.

It’s almost the end for Outlander. While the second part of season 7 will be broadcast this fall on Starz, the actors of the fantasy series are preparing to shoot the eighth and final burst of episodes.

The channel posted a video to accompany the announcement, in which some of the cast can be seen reminiscing about filming memories.

It’s been exactly 10 years since Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan adapted the epic novels imagined by Diana Gabaldon, which see a 20th century nurse travel through time to find herself in the 18th century, in the heart of the Scottish countryside.

What she does not yet know is that at this time she will meet the man who will become her companion and that they will witness, together, great political upheavals.

In this video, the two actors as well as Sophie Skelton (Brianna) and Richard Rankin (Roger), who joined the series later, revisit the film sets, review the posters and other promotional photos, as well as the costumes that made them accompanied over the years. A moment full of emotion, like the series.

A season 8 and a spin-off

Despite a delay due to the writers’ and actors’ strike last year, Starz will broadcast season 8 of Outlander in 2025. These last episodes, which will be adapted from volume 9, Farewell to the beeswill take place once again during the American Revolution.

We already know that Sophie Skelton, Richard Rankin, David Berry, Charles Vandervaart and John Bell will be back, as will the two main actors. Conversely, Tobias Menzies will not make a cameo in the final season, even though his character appears in the book.

The release of season 8 in 2025 should precede that of the Outlander spin-off, titled Blood of my Blood. This prequel returns to the love story of Jamie Fraser’s parents, Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, exploring how far a person can go for love in a time when marriages have a strategic role, often for political or financial gain .

Outlander is available on Netflix in France.
