In London, the “Outlander” stars celebrated the premiere of the sixth season. Only leading actress Caitriona Balfe was missing.

“Outlander” fans have had to wait long enough: Finally, the sixth season of the popular series is in the starting blocks. In the Royal Festival Hall in London, the cast around the main actor Sam Heughan (41) aka Jamie celebrated the glamorous premiere of the new episodes on Thursday evening. The Scottish actor posed completely in black for the photographers alone, his better half of the series Caitriona Balfe (42) aka Claire stayed in Los Angeles.

The actress, who became a mother in 2021, instead posed for solo photos at an event at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles. In terms of elegance, however, the Irish actress did not need to hide from her colleagues in London. Balfe wowed in a strapless black dress by Carolina Herrera, as the “Daily Mail” shows, among others.

The actress was previously criticized by some fans for her decision not to fly to London for the premiere. “I understand that you are disappointed”, Balfe explained on Twitter. At the same time, as a new mother, I ask for your understanding. “I’m trying my best but I can’t fly around the world like I used to. Things have changed but we’re getting used to it.”

The sixth season of the hit series “Outlander” can be seen in the USA from March 6 on the Starz channel. It is not yet clear when the new episodes will also be broadcast in Germany.

The series is based on the internationally acclaimed bestsellers by Diana Gabaldon (70). The ninth volume of the Highland saga was released in November with “The Swarming of a Thousand Bees”. The story of Englishwoman Claire Randall, who is suddenly catapulted back to the year 1743 and finds the love of her life in Scottish freedom fighter Jamie Fraser, has been published in over 27 countries and translated into 24 languages ​​to date.

Since its premiere in August 2014 on the US broadcaster Starz, the series has also been a real triumph and has received awards at the Critics’ Choice Awards and People’s Choice Awards, among others, and has been nominated several times for the Emmy and the Golden Globe. A seventh season of the series has already been ordered.
