The fifth episode of “Outlander” season 6 sets the stage for a terrible tragedy on Fraser’s Ridge, which is already known from the books by Diana Gabaldon.

In “Outlander” Season 6, Claire and Jamie know that war is coming, but even with the information from the future they cannot stop it and instead take as many precautions as possible to prevent the worst and to protect themselves and their loved ones.
But another terrifying event is about to happen, and with the return of time traveler Wendigo Donner in Episode 5, fans who have read Diana Gabaldon’s books can already guess what happens next. If you haven’t read the 6th “Outlander” novel and don’t want to know more, you should stop reading now!
The looming tragedy, of course, is the great fire at Fraser’s Ridge that will completely destroy the home that Jamie and Claire have worked so hard to build. It will be Wendigo Donner who is to blame for this, who is looking for Claire’s gem in Fraser’s Ridge in order to travel back in time with it.
When Claire was kidnapped by Lionel Brown and his men in Season 5, she met Wendigo Donner, recognized him as another time traveler, and offered to give him a gem if he would help her escape. Now Wendigo seems to remember that, because in season 6 we see him with a gem.
It remains to be seen why he also wants to get the stone from Claire, here the story of the series differs a little from that of the novels. Even so, Wendigo might break into Fraser’s Ridge, knocking over Claire’s ether and catching fire when Ian lights a lantern.
Wendigo dies in the flames, the Frasers make it out of the house unharmed. Brianna and Roger, who only went back in time because they found out about the fire in the future and were sure that Claire and Jamie would die as a result, can be satisfied.
Still, the destruction of Fraser’s Ridge is of course a heavy blow. There is not much time to mourn, after all, the impending war is still the focus. We will find out whether there will be a reunion with Wendigo Donner in the next episode on April 10, 2022 in the USA on Starz and on April 12 in Germany on Amazon Prime Video or iTunes.
