“Outlander” season 6 has finally appeared on Netflix, but season 7 will probably not land on the streaming service until 2025. Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan are already taking a look into the future.

The finale of “Outlander” season 6 ended with a cliffhanger. This is not surprising, but fans of the original novel may have been surprised that the story of the 6th book by Diana Gabaldon was not told to the end.
This is because season 6 was significantly shorter due to the complicated filming during the corona pandemic and Caitriona Balfe’s pregnancy. Of the 12 planned episodes, only 8 episodes remained. Season 7 now consists of 16 episodes and includes the four episodes that were planned for season 6.
In the USA, the first 8 episodes of “Outlander” season 7 were broadcast in the summer of 2023, the remaining episodes await us sometime in 2024. Season 7 will probably be shown in its entirety on Netflix, but will not be shown until 2025.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly about the broadcast of the season 6 finale, Balfe and Sam Heughan gave an outlook on season 7, but of course kept a low profile. That’s not surprising, since season 7 was still a few months away at that point, but on the other hand, the further course of the story has of course been known for a long time from the “Outlander” novels.
It has not yet been revealed why Tom Christie accompanies Claire to Wilmington, nor has anyone wanted to admit that Claire will not be murdered for Malva’s murder in season 7. But every fan can certainly predict that “Outlander” will not let Claire die at the beginning of season 7.
While Season 6 focused more on drama in and around Fraser’s Ridge, Season 7 will focus more on the War of Independence, which was only touched on in Season 6. So it remains dangerous for Jamie and Claire!
