“Outlander” season 7 expands the cast with numerous new and old faces. Look forward to a reunion with Dougal MacKenzie (Graham McTavish) and Geillis Duncan (Lotte Verbeek), among others.

“Outlander” fans can look forward to many familiar faces in Season 7. US broadcaster Starz confirms that Graham McTavish, who can currently also be seen in “House of the Dragon”, will return to his role as Dougal MacKenzie.
It is also confirmed that Nell Hudson will play Laoghaire Fraser again. Other recurring cast members include: Steven Cree as old Ian Murray, Andrew Whipp as Brian Fraser (Jamie’s father), Layla Burns as Joan MacKimmie (Marsali’s sister and Jamie’s stepdaughter), and Lotte Verbeek as Geillis Duncan (a time traveler with whom Claire was friends).
A bunch of new actors and actresses was announced right away. are there Gloria Obianyo (“Dune”) as Mercy Woodcocka Black woman eking out a living in colonized America; Rod Hallett (“The Last Kingdom”) as Benedict Arnolda revolutionary soldier turned traitor; Chris Fulton (“Bridgerton”) as Rob Camerona new acquaintance of Roger and Brianna, and Diarmaid Murtagh (“Vikings”) as Buck MacKennzie, the illegitimate son of Dougal MacKenzie and Geillis Duncan (Buck was played by Graham McTavish in Season 5).
Kristin Altherton will play Jenny Murray, played by Laura Donnelly in Seasons 1-3. Jenny is Jamie’s sister and the mother of young Ian. Also previously confirmed are Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Hunter and Joey Philipps as Denzell Hunter.
Some of the returning characters in the story are long dead, but since Claire Fraser and other characters from the Outlander universe can travel through time, bringing them back is easy.
“Outlander” Season 7 will most likely not be released until 2023. Filming is still in full swing. The upcoming season will have 16 episodes instead of the usual 12 episodes.
