In the finale of “Outlander” Season 6, Mrs. Bug, the Frasers’ housekeeper, disappears. The novels already reveal what the secret plan of Mrs. Bug and her husband Arch is.
Mrs. Bug, the Frasers’ housekeeper, is only a minor character in “Outlander” Season 6. In Diana Gabaldon’s novels, the story of Murdina Bug and her husband Arch is much more important, and a scene in the Season 6 finale already hints at a more important role for the Bogs in Season 7.
When Claire is about to be arrested for the murder of Malva Christie, she sends Lizzie and Mrs. Bug to get help. Lizzie also returns with help, but there is no trace of Mrs. Bug. Did she just run away? A look into the future of history reveals more. Beware, spoilers!
Not as loyal as expected
In fact, the Bugs don’t see themselves as loyal friends of the Frasers, instead they are only interested in the gold they have buried beneath Fraser’s Ridge. This is King Louis XV’s gold, which was supposed to be used to finance the Jacobite rebellion. Arch Bug steals this gold from Jocasta and buries it.
When Fraser’s Ridge burns down, Mrs. Bug looks for the gold, but is shot by Ian, who does not recognize her as Claire and Jamie’s housekeeper. Now the Frasers have to be on their guard because Arch Bug swears revenge.
You can now watch how this storyline was implemented in “Outlander” Season 7 in the stream – although not on Netflix. By the way, the remaining 8 episodes from season 7 await us on Starz in 2024.
