Fuel is becoming more expensive
The CO2 tax (officially CO2 pricing), which has been in place since October 2022, will be further increased at the beginning of 2024. The price will rise from 32.50 euros to 45 euros per ton in 2024. Including sales tax, you pay 13.5 cents per liter of diesel and 12.3 cents per liter of gasoline per liter as an extra CO2 tax. Compared to the previous year, fuel is 3.7 or 3.4 cents per liter more expensive at the pump.
