Full lips in seconds without intervention from the beauty doc – no problem thanks to Overlined Lips. Stars like Kendall Jenner and Kourtney Kardashian show how it’s done. And we’ll do it right away. Because the trend is super easy and promises great things. Literally.

Actually, Kourtney Kardashian had her 148 million followers: only wanted to show a few impressions of her last days. However, one photo in particular stands out in the picture gallery. The newly fiancé wears a red vinyl dress and quite heavy make-up. Particularly noticeable: her lips. They are processed with a dark lip liner. The autumn and winter beauty trend is born.

Overlined Lips: That’s what it’s about

With Overlines Lips, the lips – as the name suggests – have a curved border. Nothing new so far. However, you choose a darker shade than the lipstick. The border is therefore made in one color from the same color family, but can easily be two to three shades darker. The lips are also lightly painted over. The goal of this make-up technique: fuller lips within seconds. Because by slightly painting over the edge of the lip with a slightly darker shade, more volume is created visually.

Overlined Lips: Here’s how

Overlined lips are very easy to put on. All you need is lipstick and lip liner as well as a mirror, a steady hand and a little courage. Because the look is striking.

1. First of all, prepare your lips for the product with an exfoliant so that they have an even surface.

2. Next, you prime your lips, you can use a dollop of concealer for this. So the product stays longer on the lips.

3. Now you choose your lip liner. It should be as natural as possible, not have an overly glossy, but also not too matte finish. You choose the color a little darker than the lipstick that you want to use later.

4. Now you can start applying. You start in the corners of the lips, always going a little bit over the lips. Blend the line inwards, so you avoid too strong a contrast between the liner and lipstick.

5. Once you have traced your entire lips with the liner, you can start filling in. Apply the lipstick in the slightly lighter shade to the upper and lower lip and blend it lightly towards the outside.

This creates a natural look that is still eye-catching.

Does the trend sound familiar to you?

The Overlined Lips are not new. In the 00s, we emphasized the edges of our lips with darker nuances. While in the past extremely dark lip liners were worn with extremely light lipstick, the beauty trend is now a little gentler. At Overlined Lips, we use a lip liner that differs only a few color nuances from the lipstick. In this way you achieve a much more natural result that still has it all.

Overlined lips in berry tones look particularly beautiful.
