Overlooked traffic jams – pile-up on the A1: twelve injured


A Hungarian with a minibus overlooked the end of a traffic jam on the Westautobahn near Eugendorf in Salzburg on Sunday afternoon and caused a pile-up. Twelve people were injured, one seriously.

There were seven passengers in the 55-year-old Hungarian’s minibus. When he overlooked the traffic jam caused by a construction site, he tried an evasive maneuver, but could no longer prevent the impact on the car of a 26-year-old Austrian. Several other vehicles were involved in the crash due to the force of the impact.

Twelve people were injured in the accident, and one seriously injured was flown to the Salzburg LKH by an emergency doctor’s helicopter. The remaining eleven people were brought to the LKH and UKH Salzburg in ambulance vehicles.

The alcohol tests with all vehicle drivers were negative. The A1 was completely closed for a long time in the area of ​​the accident site. There were extensive congestion.
