In order to play Overwatch 2, players must necessarily have a Battle.net account and connect to it once the game is launched. But that’s not all. As indicated by Blizzard on the official site, the latter must imperatively ” link a compatible mobile phone number to their Battle.net account to play Overwatch 2 (Defensive Matrix program). So, in this article, we tell you how to link your phone number and activate SMS protection on your Battle.net account.
Enable SMS Protection on Battle.net to Play Overwatch 2
Enable SMS protection on your Battle.net account is in no way difficult. However, certain steps should be followed. So, without further ado, here’s how:
- Go to the Blizzard website.
- If you are doing this from the Battle.net launcher, click on your name at the top left and select “View account”. This will open a page in your browser.
- Log in to your Battle.net account.
- Go to “Account Details”.
- In the third part, enter your phone number, if it is not already done (or update it, if necessary).
- Note that the area code in France is “+33”.
- After a short time, you should normally have received a verification code on your phone.
- Type the said verification code in the appropriate box.
- Then click “Continue”.
- You have now enabled SMS protection on your Battle.net account.
As a reminder, Overwatch 2 arrives October 4, 2022 on most gaming platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Unlike its predecessor, this second opus is free-to-play. Note also that Overwatch 2 offers cross-play and has the cross-progression feature.
