Highly anticipated, the Overwatch 2 beta is a real success, so far. Many curious people have tried the adventure and, despite some problems, the feedback is generally quite encouraging. A week after its start, Blizzard wanted to take stock with the community, to keep some transparency. Thus, the studio explains that one of the most important points was the transition from teams consisting of six players to five players.
We think 5v5 is a big adjustment for players, and we’re happy to hear positive and consistent feedback about players having more fun, feeling more impact in their matches, and enjoy the faster pace of fights and engagements.
However, who says fewer players says a changing meta. Very often, the role left out is that of tank, which limits the protection of the players, in particular of the care. Fact, Blizzard is thinking about adding new heroes for the care role, more interesting to play. Of course, the developers explain that many features are not yet present in the final version, such as the user interface, player profiles and the complete set of heroes 2.0 appearance.
Moreover, from this beta, several balances will be made, especially at the Hero level. Other things can be added, but Blizzard explains that not everything may happen during this beta, which ends on May 17, as a reminder. In all cases, a next test is already planned, with more content, such as new features and unannounced heroes.
