Overwatch League: after Ange, it’s Genji’s turn to get his new skin!

The Summer Shodown kicks off the Overwatch League with an announcement that may well delight fans: the release of a new legendary model for Genji. The latter was inspired by the matsuri season, the traditional festivals in Japan. So, in order to celebrate the arrival of the end of summer, Genji dressed in proper attire to participate in the festivities.

The happi is a traditional coat worn during matsuri. On that of Genji, we can see the coat of arms of Shimada as well as their name in calligraphy. The simplicity of the outfit helps bring out the details brought to this outfit. The concept artist thought it was appropriate to make Genji wear a casual outfit to enjoy the summer parties. However, his primary goal was to give a slightly different spirit to Genji, the ninja-cyborg that we have known for years. And as much to say, it works!
