Owner doing well – boat capsized: Big search on Lake Neusiedl

A dinghy, partly sunk in the water, triggered a search operation by the fire brigade and the police on Lake Neusiedl on Wednesday evening. After a short time, however, the all-clear could be given again. The owner, who was initially missing, was brought to the bank by an acquaintance.

A walker had sounded the alarm after he discovered the half-sunken boat from the observation tower near Podersdorf. The police and fire brigade drove out immediately and found a dinghy sticking out of the water at an angle.

Search for the missing
Since they didn’t find anyone else by the boat, they started a search for possible missing persons. Shortly afterwards, the emergency services could breathe a sigh of relief: As it turned out, an acquaintance had brought the owner of the dinghy ashore after he had tried to get it afloat again for several hours in neck-high water.
