OxygenOS: after the failed merger with ColorsOS, OnePlus asks users for help


By deploying OxygenOS 13, OnePlus has drawn the wrath of users who did not really appreciate the disguised merger with ColorOS, Oppo’s overlay. In response, the manufacturer has decided to launch a survey of those concerned to plan future changes and improvements to its own overlay.

The start of 2022 has not been easy for OnePlus users. While 2021 ended with the announcement of the merger of OxygenOs with ColorOS, Oppo’s in-house overlay, the months that followed lacked additional information, leaving those concerned in the dark about the future of their smartphone. Then, last February, OnePlus created confusion by hastily announcing OxygenOS 13, when the new overlay was supposed to be H2OOS, the result of the merger with ColorOS.

A month later, nothing is getting better with the deployment of the OxygenOS 13 beta. Users feel cheated, the overlay is only OxygenOS in name. Indeed, the merger with ColorOS is beautiful and very apparent, and obviously, it is not to everyone’s taste. It’s been several weeks since OnePlus wiped the ire of users. The Chinese firm is now trying to pay the piper, as evidenced by its recent statement. To improve things, OnePlus will approach the first concerned.

OnePlus launches a survey to improve

Thus, the manufacturer launched this weekend a survey of members of its support forum to assess what works and, a fortiori, what works less with the latest version of OxygenOS. The answers will help him to rectify the situation concerning the many criticisms received, assures the latter. In addition, several categories make up this survey, such as cultural inclusiveness or the general intuitiveness of the platform.

For now, the announcement has been accompanied by many messages from users asking OnePlus to bring back the old version of OxygenOS. However, we imagine that the maneuver will not be easy for the firm, which has already formalized its partnership with Oppo. It therefore remains to rectify the situation by limiting the damage, taking into account user feedback.
