OZARK

The Netflix series “Ozark” also provides the best entertainment in the 4th season. However, a murder in the new episodes doesn’t make any sense. More about it on Netzwelt.

  • Gangster lady Darlene Snell shoots an opponent in season 4 of “Ozark”.
  • But her victim’s behavior doesn’t stand up to closer scrutiny.
  • You can find out everything about the logic hole here.

The intriguing crime and thriller series Ozark has returned to Netflix screens. In the first part of the 4th “Ozark” season, things get straight to the point – and especially in the two final episodes, the corpses pile up. On closer inspection, however, one of these deaths reveals how sloppy the series makers worked.

Warning: Spoilers for the first part of the 4th “Ozark” season follow from here!

Frank Cosgrove (John Bedford Lloyd), the boss of the Kansas City mob, visits gang boss Darlene Snell (Lisa Emery) at her house in season 4 episode 6. Cosgrove is furious and confronts Darlene. She gets up, goes into an adjoining room, gets a shotgun and shoots Cosgrove down.

That’s why Frank Cosgrove’s death doesn’t make any sense at all

This murder doesn’t make any sense for two reasons. First of all, it doesn’t seem believable that a mob boss would visit an opponent in her home and thus on her territory without any backup. Frank Cosgrove – that proves the 4th “Ozark” season – appeared completely alone at Darlene’s. None of his men are even waiting in front of her house – otherwise Cosgrove’s son Frank Cosgrove Jr. (Joseph Sikora) would not have had to be informed by Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) about his father’s murder. But that’s not all.

In the very last episode of the previous “Ozark” season 3, Darlene already committed a more than painful attack on Frank Cosgrove Jr. After he had beaten Ruth, Darlene visited him in Kansas City, pointed a shotgun at his penis and pulled the trigger. The two Cosgrove men could hardly have received a clearer indication of Darlene’s undeniable dangerousness and impulsiveness.

It seems all the more unlikely that the older Cosgrove shows up completely alone in Darlene’s house and is not even alarmed when she calmly gets her shotgun from another room.
