Paddington 3: one of the successes of early 2025? In the meantime, the trailer has been released!

The trailer for “Paddington in Peru”, the third part of the saga launched by Paul King in 2014, has been revealed. In this new adventure, the bear takes the Brown family to his country of origin!

Ten years after Paul King’s Paddington, the third part of the saga with the cute teddy bear in the red hat unveils its trailer. Paddington and the Brown family leave the streets of London for the Amazon jungle in Peru!

The first two films inspired by the work of Michael Bond were commercial and critical successes with more than $500 million in worldwide box office revenue, 4.7 million admissions in French theaters, a rating of 97 % and 99% on Rotten Tomatoes and 4 stars (press and spectators) on AlloCiné.

The Brown family and Paddington arrive in Peru

Paddington in Peru will be the first film in the saga directed by a filmmaker other than Paul King (who nevertheless produced the feature film), to whom we owe the great success Wonka with Timothée Chalamet. It is the British Dougal Wilson, who is at work this time.

In this opus, the bear returns to Peru to visit his aunt Lucy at the House of Retired Bears. But the latter has gone on a journey into the jungle and Paddington is determined to go get her, much to the chagrin of the Browns, as shown in the video revealed today.

Ben Whishaw lends his voice to the bear again in the original version (Guillaume Gallienne is back in VF), Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer (who replaces Sally Hawkins), Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris and Samuel Joslin reprise the roles of the members of the Brown family. They will be surrounded by newcomers Olivia Colman, Oscar winner in 2019 for her role in The Favorite, and Antonio Banderas.

Paddington without filter…

Last September, Paul King, who also participated in the writing of the feature film, explained to Total Films that Paddington in Peru drew parallels with the third act of the 2022 Palme d’Or winner, Unfiltered by Ruben Östlund… In this satire on the super-rich, a cruise ship runs aground in the jungle and the The balance of power is reversed between passengers and staff.

What does this have to do with the friendly Andean bear? According to Paul King, Paddington in Peru will be like a “fish out of water”. We can therefore imagine that if in London, Paddington needs the Browns, in the jungle, the relationship will be reversed and it is his family who will be dependent on him.

The feature film will be released in theaters on February 5. Meanwhile Paddington is released in cinemas on July 24 and Paddington 2 will be back in theaters on August 7
