The cast of “Paddington in Peru” has been confirmed. Oscar winner Olivia Colman and Antonio Banderas join the cast of the film.

The “Paddington” film series enjoys great popularity among audiences and critics. So it’s not surprising that “Paddington 2” from 2017 will get a sequel. And for this there is now a truly impressive star ensemble.

Like the producers of the third part “Paddington in Peru” on Instagram and Twitter have confirmed, none other than Antonio Banderas (62), Oscar winner Olivia Colman (49), Emily Mortimer (“Mary Poppins’ Return”, 51) and “West Side Story” leading actress Rachel Zegler (22) join the cast of the Films and take on human roles. “Variety” had previously reported on the potential cast additions.

This is what Paddington in Peru is about

In the third part of the film series, the eponymous bear ends up in his home country of Peru. Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) wants to visit his beloved Aunt Lucy (Imelda Staunton), who lives in a bear nursing home. This home is run by a carefree, guitar-playing nun (Colman). In his adventures in the Amazon rainforest, Paddington also receives help from the fearless riverboat captain Hunter Cabot (Banderas) and his daughter Gina (Zegler).

Fans of the film series also have to cope with the recasting of a beloved character: Cast newcomer Emily Mortimer takes over the role of Mrs. Brown from Sally Hawkins (47). Hawkins had embodied the fan favorite in the first two installments of the franchise. Commercial film director Dougal Wilson (51) makes his feature film directorial debut with “Paddington in Peru”. Filming is scheduled to begin in July this year. A start date has not yet been set.
