Pain free with acupressure: you've never used clothes pegs like this – video

What is acupressure and how does it work?

Our ears not only give us hearing, but much more than most of us suspect. The ears have a variety of nerves that are connected to the rest of our body through the central nervous system. So if you exert a stimulus at a selected point on your ear, you stimulate another on another part of your body at the same time.

You can use this special property to combat any pain. There are a total of six pressure points on our ears, which can have a positive influence on certain regions of your body.

You have to consider that

Basically, the following applies when using: Never stimulate more than one of the points mentioned. And now an everyday object comes into play that you have probably completely underestimated so far – the clothespin. To activate the desired pressure points, it is sufficient to clamp a clothespin in the appropriate place. You can see which area of your ear is particularly effective against which ailments in the video above!

If you find the pressure of the clothes peg uncomfortable, you can alternatively simply massage the point with your fingers. Of course, the clothes peg should not cause you any pain (the opposite is the intention here). If in doubt, see if another clothespin is perhaps a little gentler on your ear. The clip should stay on your ear for a maximum of one minute – depending on how severe your symptoms are, you can repeat the process over the course of a day. By the way: It doesn't matter whether you use your left or right ear – just see which side you feel more comfortable with and which side is more comfortable for you.
