Painting Easter Eggs: Ideas and Instructions

DIY ideas: paint Easter eggs

Of course we can buy colored eggs for Easter. But blowing out eggs and coloring Easter eggs is a great Easter tradition. In particular, we can paint the Easter eggs to our hearts' content and adapt them individually to our decoration. Above all, Easter decorations themselves are a lot of fun.

Easter eggs with butterfly

You need:

  • blown out chicken eggs
  • neon pink spray paint for the great color
  • Lace border (approx. 1.5 cm wide and 10 cm long)
  • white satin ribbon (approx. 8 mm wide and 50 cm long)
  • Butterfly scraps
  • Decoupage glue
  • brush
  • thin stick

That's how it's done:

  1. Push the thin stick from bottom to top through the holes that were used to blow it out. With this you can keep and turn the egg just fine. Now it's time to get to the paint, because the priming is on. Spray the egg completely with neon paint, preferably outdoors.
  2. When the varnish has dried, place the lace ribbon around the egg once so that both ends come together at the top of the hole. First make a knot, then tie a bow from the ends. Pull a satin ribbon between the egg and the knot so that the egg can be hung.
  3. Brush some decoupage glue on the egg, place the butterflies on it and brush with a layer of KIeber. Also fix the lace border with some glue. Let it dry and hang it on the Easter bouquet.

Easter egg with buttons

You need:

  • a blown chicken egg
  • Acrylic paint in petrol
  • pink checkered ribbon (1 cm wide and 50 cm long)
  • Decoupage glue
  • 4 buttons of the same color (e.g. lilac) Ø 1 cm
  • 8 white buttons Ø 1 cm
  • neon pink spray paint
  • brush
  • Hot glue gun
  • thin stick

That's how it's done:

  1. Carefully slide the thin stick through the egg's blow holes. Now you can easily brush the egg with the acrylic paint. Let dry.
  2. Glue the ribbon on the middle with decoupage glue. Let dry too. Then it's time to decorate.
  3. Spray four of the white buttons with the neon varnish and let them dry well.
  4. Use hot glue to alternately stick a colored, a white and a neon colored button on the ribbon.
  5. Pull out the chopsticks and instead pull the ribbon through the holes. Tie a knot at the bottom and leave a piece of ribbon about 5 cm long. Leave the tape at the top for fastening.

Neon Easter egg with lace
