Palestinian killed in West Bank clashes


JENIN, West Bank (Reuters) – A Palestinian was killed by the Israeli army in the occupied West Bank on Saturday in clashes during a raid in the hometown of the perpetrator of Thursday’s shooting Tel Aviv, Israeli sources said. and Palestinians.

The Palestinian Health Minister said 13 people were injured in Saturday’s firefight in the city of Jinin.

Islamic Jihad said the man killed by the gun was a member of the movement.

The Israeli army, for its part, indicated that its soldiers were carrying out an anti-terrorist operation in the region of Jenin and that they had opened fire on militants after having been the target of fire.

Jenin residents said Israeli troops surrounded the home of the man who opened fire on a Tel Aviv bar on Thursday night and killed three Israelis. He was shot a few hours later in a

exchange of fire with the Israeli security forces.

Israeli security forces announced on Friday that they had killed the man suspected of being the author of the attack.

The city of Jenin is considered one of the main strongholds of Palestinian armed groups and Israel has carried out several operations there over the past two weeks.
