Israeli military operations increase in the West Bank

This incident comes on the day of a new operation by the Israeli army in the Jenin sector, in the West Bank, a stronghold of the armed Palestinian factions from which the perpetrators of recent deadly attacks in Tel Aviv originate.

The Palestinian Health Ministry reported ten Palestinian injuries, including three in Jenin and four in Tulkarem, and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club recorded 24 arrests by Israeli forces.

The Israeli authorities have for their part reported “vandalism” on the alleged tomb of Joseph, the son of the patriarch Jacob, in the Palestinian city of Nablus, a place of Jewish pilgrimage.

The Israeli army and border police had already carried out a raid on the Jenin refugee camp on Saturday, resulting in an intense exchange of fire which killed a 25-year-old Palestinian, a member of the Islamic Jihad, main movement Palestinian armed Islamist after Hamas.

Late Saturday, Israel announced a series of measures to tighten the noose on the Jenin area, in particular by closing the Israeli crossing points going to this city, by limiting the entrances and exits of the city and by “multiplying » on-site security checks.
