Former emblematic presenter of the program Questions for a champion on France 3which he embodied for nearly 28 years on the public channel, Julien Lepers had been removed from the program in 2016. Since then, the host left France Télévisions with losses and a crash, while journalist Samuel Etienne took over the presentation of Questions pour un champ, with some success. Lately, Julien Lepers sparked buzz after speaking out about the Pierre Palmade affair. During his stint in Laurent Argelier’s podcast on Monday March 6, 2023, the former host said he was afraid of today’s society, because of the “media lynching“.”We lick, we let go, we lynch. “If we put someone on trial, there will be a defence. There will be an attack. There will be judges. That’s a trial. You’re already dead before any trial. Palmade, there is no trial, nothing at all, he is already dead“, added Julien Lepers, before looking into the case of Pierre Palmade. “I want to help him, he’s so let go. I find it a pity that he is lynched like that. It is kind of a shame. I am not a judge, but I simply think of him, as I also think of the victims who did nothing to anyone, who suddenly are in total misery“, he had underlined.
