The cast of Pam & Tommy talks about the infamous sex tape. Mistakes about Pamela Anderson would be cleared up in the series.

“Pam & Tommy” aims to show the world how the sex tape scandal really played out in the ’90s. The stars of the series promise fans to clear up “misunderstandings” about Pamela Anderson (54) and Tommy Lee (59). Lily James (32) plays Anderson, while Lee is portrayed by Sebastian Stan (39). Along with her colleagues Nick Offerman (51) and Taylor Schilling (37) they told Entertainment Weekly, how they feel after the production of the scandal of what is supposedly the first celebrity sex tape in history. The mini-series, consisting of eight episodes, can be seen on Disney+ in Germany from February 2nd.

Scandal still unsolved to this day

The “Baywatch” actress and the Motley Crüe drummer met in a club, married four days later and produced a sex tape on their honeymoon. The involuntary distribution in the then still new World Wide Web is the subject of the mini-series. It was only after the actors read the scripts that they realized the unfairness of the situation. “I was surprised at how much I didn’t know about what happened,” Stan says of the infamous scandal.

Finding out that Anderson and Lee were victims of a crime and that the sex tape was stolen from their own home rather than self-released came as a major shock to the entire cast. “It felt really powerful and shocking,” James said. Offerman chose the role to enlighten the world about the truth of the crime. “I was amazed that no one in the public, including myself, even remotely knows the true story of what happened,” he says. Schilling was impressed by Anderson’s bravery at the time.
