Paradox Interactive climbs back in the first half

After a second quarter marked by the release of Shadowrun Trilogy on all platforms and by the usual wave of additional content (Overlord for Stellaris, Fate of Iberia for Crusader Kings III, New Alliances for Surviving the Aftermath and Gangs for Prison Architect), Paradox Interactive confirms its return to form. For the first half of 2022 as a whole, revenue reached €89.9 million (up 22%) and operating profit €40.5 million (up 107%). Cities: Skylines, Crusader Kings III, Europa Universalis IV, Hearts of Iron IV and Stellaris are the main sources of income at the moment.

During the first half of 2022, we continued our momentum, deepened our catalog of strategy and management games and expanded our player base while maintaining good cost control. At the same time, exchange rates have allowed us to have even more wind at our backs. The effects are noticeable, among other things, in a strong profit margin of 46% in the second quarter of the yearcommented CEO Fredrik Wester, who will answer questions with CFO Alexander Bricca during the live results presentation on Paradox Interactive’s YouTube channel today at noon.

Remember that Paradox’s next big meeting will take place on September 2 and 3 with PDXCON, an annual event that will largely revolve around Victoria 3, the next big in-house strategy game. Don’t expect to see the miracle return of Bloodlines 2 as part of this event, however.
