Paraglider accident – landing failed: 38-year-old seriously injured

A paraglider pilot (38) had to be admitted to the Innsbruck clinic on Friday morning with serious injuries. A landing maneuver in Westendorf had gone wrong. Also in Kramsach there was an accident during the landing approach.

In fact, everything went well until the end. But it happened when he landed next to the valley station of the Alpenrosenbahn in Westendorf: the 38-year-old German lost altitude far too quickly and hit the ground hard. He remained lying with serious injuries. The notified rescue workers provided first aid. The seriously injured man was first taken to the Kufstein hospital by helicopter, but was transferred to the clinic a little later. The reason for the crash of the paraglider pilot was not yet known. An accident with a paraglider also occurred in Kramsach on Friday afternoon. A 40-year-old local was hit by the strong crosswind on approach to land. As a result, he hit a meadow from a height of about ten meters. He was taken to Kufstein Hospital with serious injuries.
