This Friday, January 12, Vitaa, Christophe Willem and Daniel Guichard were the guests of La Boîte à secret. A show which had many surprises in store for them, notably for Slimane’s sidekick, who was to attend a cover of You are my other by Lara Fabian. But it ultimately didn’t go as planned.
The emotion was there during The Secret Box. This Friday, January 12, the program welcomed Daniel Guichard and Christophe Willem, but also Vitaa. The interpreter of “Nocturnal Confessions” really needed moments of joy and emotion, after the recent burglary of which she was a victim, and which left her with significant after-effects, even if the young woman decided to take the upper hand and to continue living as she sees fit. Taking the time to breathe, the young woman decided to let go, and notably shed a few tears, during a surprise given to him by Lara Fabian. But even when the latter was to resume the song “You are my other”, she abruptly interrupted, asking that the music be cut.
A reaction that did not fail to surprise. Overwhelmed by emotion, with tears in her eyes, Lara Fabian declared that it was a song that she used to perform with Maurane, who died in 2018. Confused, she confided that This is a complicated exercise for her, and she doesn’t feel like performing this song alone. It was then that she made a proposition to Vitaa: “In my life, I have sung it with a few people, but the person of my heart has always been Maurane. SO would you agree tonight to be my other?“A proposal that the singer did not fail to accept, which made it possible to offer viewers a most moving performance.

But this is not the only intervention which did not fail to move. Daniel Guichard was also very moved during the show, and more particularly during the cover of his legendary song “Mon Vieux” by Natasha St-Pier. Indeed, the young woman was not alone during this reinterpretation. She was accompanied by Philippe Maréchal, the singer’s former traveling companion and conductor. The two men could not hide their emotionsso much so that at the end of the performance, the two men hugged each other.
