New ambitious challenger of video streaming in the United States, Paramount+ will soon be packing its bags in France. The service has signed an agreement with Canal+ for exclusive distribution in France.

If the multiple series announced by Paramount + across the Atlantic made you salivate with their host of stars, good news: you will soon be entitled to them.
After Germany, Great Britain, Spain, Switzerland or even Serbia, the American video streaming service will soon be available in France. It will not arrive as is, but will be distributed by Canal+.
Canal+, the big winner
Tuesday, during a day of announcements to investors, punctuated by the change of name ViacomCBS to Paramount, the latter unveiled a strategic partnership with the French group. Paramount+ will be offered to subscribers via the Canal+ Ciné Séries pack.
” Paramount+ will also bring French fans well-known franchises like Billions, Dexter, SpongeBob SquarePants, South Park, Star Trek and more, alongside iconic Paramount Pictures movies like The Godfather, Transformers, Mission: Impossible and many others “said Paramount and Canal + in a joint press release.
Other flagship series are on the program such as The Offer,on the genesis of the filmThe Godfatherwith Miles Teller (whiplash) and Juno Temple ( Ted Lasso ), The First Lady with Viola Davis or even the musical around the Pink Ladies of grease.

All these programs will be available on TV boxes, iOS and Android applications, connected TVs or even in desktop version. It could go through a Paramount+ app directly.
Arrival at the end of the year
No specific launch date has been given and Paramount+ is simply announced ” later in the year,rather on the second half of 2022 and even in December according to The Hollywood Reporter . The agreement with the Canal+ group also includes the distribution of Nickelodeon, Nickelodeon Junior, Nickelodeon Teen, MTV, Paramount Channel, Game One, J-One, BET and Comedy Central programs. Select Showtime series will also be offered.
This agreement will also allow Canal to broadcast Paramount Pictures films six months after their theatrical release, thanks to the new media chronology. And among the catalog, we expect in particular Top Gun: Maverick orScream.
The Halo series on Canal+ before Paramount+
This is not the first time that Canal+ has managed to reach an agreement with a streaming service. The group had already succeeded in forging a privileged partnership for the launch of Disney+ in France in early 2020.
