Paramount + confirms its arrival in France at the end of the year, with a price probably quite high

The new SVoD service Paramount+ will arrive in September in Italy, and France will follow “In the coming months“. If the subscription price is the same as with our neighbours, it will be rather high compared to the competition.

Paramount+ is closer than ever. The streaming platform developed by the studio of the same name will land in Italy from September 15. France and Germany will follow.”In the coming months“, in the words of Marco Nobili, Executive Vice President and International General Manager of Paramount+, who specifies that the service should be present”in all major European markets by the end of the year“. Remember that in France, the arrival of Paramount + will be done in particular in partnership with Canal +, which will distribute the new platform in its offers.

8 € monthly, it’s a bit expensive

On the price side, the Italian version of Paramount+ will be launched at €7.99 monthly or €79.99 per year. Fairly high prices compared to competing platforms, which we can expect to find on other markets, including France. For this price, La Botte subscribers will have access to a catalog of more than 8000 hours of programs – needless to underline Paramount’s strike force on the classics of the 7th art -, with a particular emphasis on local films and series, both Italian and European.

According to its own estimates, Paramount+ already has nearly 64 million subscribers worldwide. Its deployment seems in any case much less chaotic than that of HBO Max which, after months of waiting, finally canceled its visit to France. It will be replaced by a future service combining its programs with those of Discovery+, and whose launch is not scheduled before the fall of 2024.
