Paramount+, the streaming service from the famous American studio, has just launched a new formula in France. And suffice to say that it should please 4K aficionados.
In the streaming platform market, there are two schools regarding 4K : those who charge for this superior image definition, and those who offer it at no extra cost in their offer. Netflix and Disney+, for example, are part of the first stable. To benefit from 4K on both services, it will be necessary opt for the most expensive options.
Conversely, some competitors like Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV+ have decided to include it automatically, understand at no additional cost. Casually, this is becoming rather rare in the industry. Regarding Paramount+, the platform of the famous American studio available since 2022 in France, we had to settle for a Full HD display with the single subscription offered at €7.99 per month.
Paramount+ finally goes to 4K with a new formula
But that is no longer the case. With astonishing discretion, Paramount+ has just launched in France a new Premium formula. Billed to €10.99 per monththis subscription this time includes 4K on almost the entire catalog. Additionally, users will also be able to take advantage of some additional technologies, such as support for HDR 10, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for an optimal viewing experience.
In addition, subscribers can also watch their favorite films and series on 4 devices simultaneously, compared to 2 on the Standard formula. As a reminder, according to information shared by the Wall Street Journal in December 2023, Apple TV and Paramount+ could soon merge their offers to offer a single, cheaper subscription. The idea being to join forces to better compete with the big names in the genre like Netflix and Disney+. For the moment, we do not know more about this project, the two entities having refused to comment on the Wall Street Journal’s assertions.
