While the movie Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Thieves was released in theaters last Wednesday, the live action series commissioned by Paramount+ in January has just found its showrunner in the person of Drew Crevello.

By WeCrashed screenwriter

Relatively unknown to the general public, Drew Crevello recently co-created and co-directed the mini-series WeCrashed for Apple TV+, starring Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway. He was also in the production of the films X-Men: First Class, Dead Pool And The Grudge 2.

As a reminder, a “showrunner” is the writing director of a series in the United States. In addition to guiding scriptwriters on plot and character development, he liaises with production, and is often a producer himself.

Paramount+ ordered a first season of eight episodes for this future series in January Dungeons & Dragons in live action, adapted from the famous role-playing game created in the 70s. If few details are still known about the plot, the pilot of this series is written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Red Notice, Skyscraper).

Released at the end of March in the United States and on April 12 in France, the film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Thieves only gleaned $157 million at the worldwide box office. A disappointing score, especially compared to its imposing budget of 150 million and the quality of the feature film that we rather appreciated at Les Numériques.
