Parental control on Disney+: our tutorial to activate and configure it

How do I set up parental controls on Disney+? We’re giving you a step-by-step tutorial to show you how to protect your children…

Disney, its cult cartoons, its princes, princesses and other superheroes… but it’s not just that on the streaming platform. So to be sure that our toddlers are watching programs suitable for their age, there is the possibility of configuring parental controls.

Disney+ offers 4 solutions: classification, creation of the Children profile, addition of a profile PIN code as well as control of new profiles. We explain how to activate these different options through a step-by-step tutorial. And if you are also a Netflix subscriber, we also show you how to do it here!

Step 1: go to the homepage

To activate parental controls, you have two choices. When you arrive on the platform, you click on the top right on “edit profiles”. If you are already on one of them, just right-click on the photo, then click on the yellow insert that is shown to you on the screen.

Step 2: select the profile

Nothing could be simpler here, you click on the profile you want to modify… and control!

Step 3: the parental control section

Take your mouse and scroll down. You will then come across the “Parental control” section. First solution available to you: create a children’s profile (if you haven’t already done so). Just enable this option.

And here is the child profile!

Tada!! Welcome to the colorful and childish world of Disney, based on princesses and superheroes, action and adventure, as well as animals that we really want to cuddle…

Step 4: the protected exit

But that’s not all. We know that today’s children master technology as well as we master the k7 player, and that they know how to change profile easily. For this, Disney + offers you the “protected exit”. We explain everything in the next slide.

How it works ?

To prevent your toddlers from playing with the remote control, the children’s account is protected with this code. Just type in the numbers that appear on the screen. Well, that implies that your child can’t read…

Step 5: add a PIN code

No problem, in this case you have a third solution to protect other profiles like a safe and prevent your children from looking elsewhere. You can simply block access with a pin code.

Well, once again, we avoid obvious codes and opt for complexity. It’s okay to put the date of your wedding.

Just like Netflix, Disney+ offers you to restrict the catalog according to age classification.
