Today, the birth or adoption of a child already entitles you to additional quarters. For employees under the general scheme, each child is entitled to four additional quarters for the mother to which are added four trimesters for the education of children. Since 2010, parents have been able to share the four quarters granted in return for adoption and education.

According to the Prime Minister, and depending on the particular case, four out of ten people will be able to benefit from early retirement and will therefore not have to work until the age of 64.

Among family carers, many are forced to reduce or interrupt their professional activity, with negative consequences on their pension rights, the government believes. Consequently, an old-age insurance for carers should see the light of day and will allow a wider validation of quarters for more carers so as not to lose any pension rights in such a situation. This new device should benefit 40,000 new people.
