The Olympic Games are just around the corner. In a month, the flame will set foot in France. And in addition to touring France, she will also visit the West Indies. To make the journey, the flame will be transported by skipper Armel Le Cléac’h from June 7 aboard his maxi trimaran Banque Populaire.

And he will be able to count on a crew of stars for support. Among them, Olympic champion Marie-José Pérec. So enthusiastic about taking the flame to her island, she wrote to Armel Le Cléac’h herself. “It’s really a beautiful symbol. I am the first Olympic champion of Guadeloupe. I thought there was a beautiful story to write, a beautiful recognition for Overseas, for Guadeloupe.
