Paris: after the Bois de Vincennes, naturists are calling for a new space reserved for the Bois de Boulogne

Each year, the return of fine weather signals that of naturists. This weekend in Paris, the latter were thus able to find their reserved corner in the Bois de Vincennes (12th) and are now demanding that a new space be also allocated to them in the Bois de Boulogne (16th).

On the program this Sunday: yoga and qi gong classes, before the very first picnic of the year. The opportunity for Parisian naturists to find their space of nearly 7,500 m2, which has been dedicated to them since 2017 in the heart of the Bois de Vincennes (12th) from April to October.

Up to a thousand people on weekends

There, between the Allée Royale and the Route Dauphine, they enjoy a reserved area, far from the large, busy alleys, in which naturism is fully authorized. A charter has even been posted at the entrance to the site, recalling the values and behaviors to adopt in this unique naturist space in Paris.

“A place of diversity, free and open to all” particularly appreciated on weekends or in very hot weather. “A hundred people go there every week and between 700 and 1,000 people meet there daily on weekends,” explained Julien Claudé-Pénégry, the door-door of the Association of Naturists of Paris (ANP).

It is precisely thanks to this association that the site exists and that activities are offered there throughout the season. His ambition? “Living in harmony with nature”. For its adherents, naturism “has the consequence of promoting respect for oneself, respect for others and respect for the environment”.

A space that has been working perfectly since 2017. Even if families and single women have somewhat abandoned the site, faced with an almost inextricable problem: voyeurism. A difficulty that unfortunately persists, despite reports from the association and the creation of a brigade dedicated to the security of the place, before the creation of the municipal police.

Towards the opening of a new dedicated space?

Not enough to tarnish the enthusiasm of the regulars of the place, who continue to play sports there and organize aperitifs and picnics. So much so that the association is now campaigning for the opening of a new site, following the example of the first, but in the Bois de Boulogne. A way to prevent naturists in western Paris from having to cross Paris to indulge in this practice.

A project already well advanced. But if the principle of opening a new naturist space now seems to have been agreed with the Parisian municipality, its precise location remains to be validated and the operating rules to be chosen. A place that will be very similar to the first, with sports lessons and meetings with friends.

In the meantime, naturists can still take advantage of the Roger Le Gall swimming pool (12th), which is reserved for them three evenings a week, with swimming lessons and aquagym. At the same time, the gym – equipped for gym and bodybuilding enthusiasts – is accessible to them 5 evenings a week.
