Paris Gare du Nord: Several injured after knife attack

At the Gare du Nord in Paris, a man attacked passers-by with a knife.

lia. /(Reuters) A man injured six people with a knife at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris on Wednesday morning, one of them seriously, according to prosecutors. French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin confirmed on Twitter reports from French media that an individual at the train station had wounded several people. The suspect was neutralized by the police.

A police spokesman announced that the perpetrator had been shot several times by police officers and was currently in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Nothing is known about the motive of the perpetrator.

According to the Vice President for Mobility, Transport Infrastructure and Ports of the Hauts-de-France region, Franck Dhersin, train operations were temporarily interrupted at 6:45 a.m. due to the incident, but could be resumed after 8 a.m.
