Paris here, there – Maison Berger Paris, the smell and the way

VS’is an object that you have probably already come across without knowing it – and which will have reminded you of an oil lamp or an inkwell: a glass bottle, its woven wicks and its funny cap. This strange bottle, halfway between a decorative element and an inkwell, is the Berger lamp, created in 1898 with its burner and its system for diffusing perfume by catalysis, originally intended to purify the air of hospital wards. A flameless and smokeless object, which has become iconic, imagined by Maison Berger Paris, formerly Lampe Berger.

Taking advantage of the momentum born during the confinement which sanctuaries the home, and its decoration, the brand is today opening a brand new boutique on rue Vieille-du-Temple, in the Marais district.

Variations in blue and black

Marble and wood available in dark blue and black… make way for an elegant decoration that also favors legibility. It’s about being able to embrace everything the brand has to offer if you’re a new customer, but also being able to navigate more efficiently if you’re a regular. Witness the pictograms at the top of the shelves (candles, lamps, etc.) so as not to waste time and go directly to your needs.

The flagship innovation of the store: a perfume fountain, which uses the principle used in perfumery. The faithful will be able to find the brand’s four favorite fragrances (the Lolita Lempicka collaboration, Amber dust, Cotton caress and Pure air) offered “at the source”. It is up to the customer to bring back their bottle to refill it directly, a way to save money (between 2 and 6 euros) and to minimize their ecological footprint, since a reused bottle means less plastic.

The shop does not forget the classics (the lamp in all its forms) like the rest of the range: candles, scented bouquets, electric diffusers and other car clips, embodying the secular know-how of the brand, labeled living heritage business.

70 flavors

Another strong point of the place: to smell the 70 perfumes declined by the house. A range that explores all tastes and delicacies (sweet apple), through atmospheres (velvet from the Orient).

It is even possible to find out which fragrance is closest to the perfume we wear every day for an olfactory atmosphere that does not swear. Note that the chosen perfume can then be used on all media: lamps, candles, bouquets, and even in the car…

The Marais boutique also allows you to discover two exclusive collections of scented candles, illustrating the French art of living: Château de Versailles and Élysée. Enough to give your living room the air of a Hall of Mirrors (bergamot, ambergris, vanilla) or a court of honor (leaves, flowers and orange tree wood and rosewood).

Boutique Maison Berger Paris, 75, Rue Vieille-du-Temple, Paris 4and. Open Monday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
