While the residents of Maui are struggling with the aftermath of the fire disaster, Paris Hilton is continuing her vacation on the Hawaiian island.

The American hotel heiress lacks money Paris Hilton (42) certainly not – but obviously in tact. For a week now, she has been enjoying her beach vacation with husband Carter Reum (42) and son Phoenix (six months) on the Hawaiian island of Maui, which was hit by a devastating fire.

In a good mood when visiting the beach

According to a report by the Daily Mail the celebrity couple chose August 8th for the start of their vacation – the first day of the fire inferno on the island, which then laid entire cities in ruins and caused almost 100 deaths. Despite the ongoing tragedy and local authorities asking vacationers to leave the island immediately, Hilton has undeterred to vacation at a luxury resort near the hardest-hit city of Lahaina. Photos show the glamor family in a good mood with a rubber duck in their arms on a visit to the beach.

Appeal from Jason Momoa: “Don’t travel to Maui”

In addition to the authorities, Hawaiian actor Jason Momoa (44, “Aquaman”) on Instagram urged to stay away from the island while rescue and recovery operations continue. There he wrote: “Maui is not the right place for your vacation right now. DO NOT TRAVEL TO MAUI. Don’t convince yourself that your presence on an island that is suffering so much is necessary.”

Half-hearted calls for donations on Instagram

Her decision to stay on the island despite the humanitarian catastrophe triggered a shitstorm on social media, with many users classifying her behavior as “idiotic” or “disgusting”. In response to the growing criticism, Paris Hilton posted appeals for donations for the aid organization “Hawaii Community Foundation” in two Instagram stories. In addition, the “Daily Mail” quotes “sources close to the heiress” who assert that Hilton “helped to deal with the crisis by delivering relief supplies to emergency shelters”.
