Paris Hilton spoke about her dire experiences in youth facilities. She advocates stronger controls.
Paris Hilton (40) is committed to helping children and teenagers living in youth institutions. The TV star spoke in Washington about a new bill. This is to ensure that facilities are more closely controlled and children there are better protected. In her documentary “This Is Paris” (2020), Hilton described her teenage experiences in four institutions. She described her time in a boarding school in Utah as “torture”.
In her speech on Wednesday, the 40-year-old now stated that she was here “not as Paris Hilton, but as a survivor”. Then she described according to US media reports again their own experiences. “I couldn’t sleep at night for 20 years because memories of physical violence, feelings of loneliness, loss of peers crossed my mind when I closed my eyes,” she said. “It wasn’t just insomnia, it was trauma.”

She was sent to four facilities over a period of two years, and her experiences have followed her to this day, she said: “I was choked, slapped in the face, watched by male employees in the shower, vulgarly cursed, and was given no diagnosis for taking Forced medication, did not receive adequate training, was taken into solitary confinement in a blood-smeared and scratched room. “
A group of Democratic politicians want to work with Paris Hilton to fight for new regulations to prevent abuse in youth facilities. Hilton is calling for federal law and funding “to achieve real reform and accountability for such community organizations in America.”
