Paris Jackson speaks openly about her mental health problems on a talk show. She also speaks about her suicide attempts.

As the daughter of the late pop legend Michael Jackson (1958-2009), Paris Jackson had a difficult childhood. In a new episode of the Facebook show “Red Table Talk” the 23-year-old speaks with Willow Smith (20) more openly than ever about how much it has affected her psyche to grow up under public observation. Jackson also reports several unsuccessful suicide attempts.

“Many people regret their suicide attempts,” describes Paris Jackson. “There were times when I regretted it, and times when I didn’t, and I was sad that it didn’t work.” Today, a few years later, however, she is grateful that it did not work. “Things have gotten better.” In an interview with Willow Smith, the daughter of the King of Pop explains that her mental health has since gone up a lot.

Paris Jackson was afraid of coming out

After her father died in 2009, custody of Paris Jackson and her younger brothers went to Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness. Not an easy time for Paris Jackson, who came out about three years ago. “My family is very religious. Homosexuality is taboo and not really accepted,” explains Paris Jackson.

Therefore, it was difficult for her to come out as bisexual. She is now committed to her sexuality and her relationship with her family has also improved. “I’ve got to a point where I respect them and have love for them. I respect their beliefs. I respect their religion,” Jackson said.
