Paris Match has officially come under the control of LVMH: the luxury giant, headed by billionaire Bernard Arnault, and the Lagardère group, under the leadership of Vincent Bolloré, announced on Tuesday the finalization of the sale of the weekly magazine initiated in February .

“I would like to warmly thank Vincent Bolloré and Arnaud Lagardère (CEO of the group of the same name, Editor’s note) who are passing the torch to us today,” declared Mr. Arnault, quoted in the press release.

By integrating LVMH, Paris Match becomes a brand in its own right, independent of the Les Échos-Le Parisien press group, also owned by the luxury giant, it is specified.

The new company will be chaired by Jean-Jacques Guiony, financial director of the LVMH group and member of the executive committee, “who will carry out these functions in addition to those he currently exercises”, details the press release.

“Pierre-Emmanuel Ferrand, until then general manager of Lagardère News [chargé] of the press and digital (…) becomes Managing Director of Paris Match”, continues the text.

In addition, “Jérôme Béglé remains at the head of the editorial staff, as general director of the editorial staff” while becoming “the publication director of the newspaper”.

At 75 years old, this emblematic title of photojournalism, whose slogan has long been “the weight of words, the shock of photos”, combines major war reports and immersion in the privacy of stars and politicians. Valued at 120 million euros, it still sells more than 440,000 copies each week.
